“May your days be many and your troubles be few. May all God’s blessings descend upon you. May peace be within you may your heart be strong. May you find what you’re seeking wherever you roam.” ~Irish Blessing

I am not Irish.  Anyone who knows me knows this.  My heritage lies far more in the lands of England or Switzerland or Germany.  And yet…

There is something about Irish culture, Irish history, Irish heritage, that just calls me to it.  All of my life I have desired to visit those emerald shores.  More recently, the flame of this desire has burned greater and rages stronger within me.  Perhaps God has put this desire for Ireland in my heart, it seems only right that He did, for I long to leave my life here if it means I can begin one there for just a brief moment.  If I could just step my feet on that ground for a minute, no, a second, I believe that I could die a happy woman.

May you find what you’re seeking…My life in Christ is complete.  I am no longer a wanderer or a seeker on this earth because I have the hope of Christ who is faithful (Hebrews 10:23), but I have chosen this blessing as the title of my blog because I here intend to chronicle Ireland. I am hoping to very soon begin a journey that will lead me there.  I have the oppurtunity to spend five out of my fifteen weeks of student teaching in Dublin.  I am just beginning the application process, but each time I think on it, I long for it even more.

But I don’t want this blog to only be about a young woman’s urge for Ireland, I also want to lead others in that they may find what they are seeking.  I have found my life in Christ, and because of that, I know that regardless of if this internship in Ireland pans out, I know it will be the Will of God. It doesn’t matter the things that come my way or the storms I will face, for my God is in control.  I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, The Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalms 121:1-2)  The creator of heaven and earth is my shield and my strength.  He cares for me.  He does not slumber, and He keeps me. I hope that everyone reading this will learn to understand what that means.  Many of you out there may be seeking, and faith in Christ is your answer, my blessing and hope is that you may find him.
